Until I shifted one thing:

👉 I stopped trying to survive the end of the year
👉 And started designing it on purpose

• And those last days became the most powerful part of the year

The end of the year isn’t for shutting down.

1. Reset the Tone (Days 1–2)

Not a full restart. Not a lecture.

A tight reset.

• Re-establish expectations
• Use clear, confident teacher language
• Remind them who they are in your room

This is where you take your leadership back—calmly, clearly, and without power struggles.

2. Tighten What’s Slipping (Days 3–4)

This is where most classrooms fall apart.

You start repeating yourself.
They start testing you.

Instead:

• Say the expectation once
• Pause
• Scan
• Narrate what you want

No arguing. No over-talking. No chasing behavior.

Just leadership.

3. Hand Back Ownership (Days 5–6)

This is the shift.

Stop doing everything.

Start letting them lead.

• Student-led moments
• Shared responsibility
• Peer support

This is where your classroom stops depending on you…
and starts running with you.

4. Build the Experience (Days 7–8)

Now we layer in the magic.

Not chaos. Not filler.

Intentional, community-driven experiences.

You’re not just “doing activities.”

You’re creating:

• connection
• identity
• shared moments

👉 You don’t need early finisher work
👉 You don’t need to fill time

Because when it’s done right?
The experience is the learning.

5. Finish With Purpose (Days 9–10)

This is where it all lands.

Not just packing up.
Not just “goodbye.”

This is where students:

• Reflect
• Recognize each other
• Celebrate growth
• Leave feeling like they were part of something

And that?
That lasts.

Let me be very clear about something…

You cannot do everything.

And you shouldn’t.

This isn’t about cramming in more.

It’s about choosing what matters—and doing it well.

This isn’t Pinterest.

This is what actually works.
