THE REAL PROBLEM ISN'T THAT YOU NEED TO GET STRICTER
You Don't Need Another Behavior Management Program.
Strong classrooms aren't built by getting better and better at reacting to behavior.
They're built by intentionally creating the conditions that make positive behavior more likely—clear expectations, strong relationships, practiced routines, purposeful teacher language, meaningful participation, and real student ownership.
A BETTER QUESTION
Instead of asking, “How do I manage this class?” ask:
“How do I intentionally build the classroom I actually want to teach in?”
THE TEN BELIEF
Culture first. Behavior second.™
Build it first. Manage it second.™
THIS IS WHAT YOU'RE BUILDING TOWARD
Imagine Walking Into a Classroom Where…
You're not the only person making the classroom work. Students know how to participate, contribute, meet expectations, and increasingly take ownership.
✓
More Students Participate
Talk, thinking, collaboration, and contribution aren't left to the same few students every time.
✓
Routines Build Independence
Students know how common parts of the day work because routines have been explicitly taught, practiced, and strengthened.
✓
Expectations Mean Something
Students help build them, practice what they look and sound like, reflect on them, and grow toward meeting the standard.
✓
Students Take More Ownership
They make decisions, solve more problems, reflect, contribute, and take greater responsibility for their learning and classroom.
✓
Students Feel Like They Belong
They feel known, valued, connected, and like they are an important part of the classroom community.
✓
You Get More Time to Teach
Less of your energy goes to repeating, reminding, correcting, and managing every little detail.
THIS DOESN'T HAPPEN BY ACCIDENT
It Happens One Intentional Decision at a Time.
That's the work inside Teach Like a Top TEN™—building the foundation, strengthening what needs attention, and getting support as your classroom grows and changes.
THE TEN FOUNDATION™
Strong Classrooms Are Built on Three Things.
Everything inside Teachers Empowerment Network comes back to the same foundation: High Expectations, Relationships, and Student Voice.
HIGH EXPECTATIONS
Build the Standard With Students.
Students experience opportunities to build expectations with you, practice what those expectations look and sound like, reflect on how they're doing, and grow toward meeting the standard.
RELATIONSHIPS
Build Belonging on Purpose.
Students experience a classroom where they feel known, valued, connected, and like they are an important part of the community.
STUDENT VOICE
Give Students a Real Role.
Students experience meaningful opportunities to participate, contribute, make decisions, reflect, and increasingly take ownership of their learning and their classroom.

I’m Sarah—and I Spent 25 Years Learning What Actually Makes a Classroom Work.
For a long time, I thought becoming a stronger teacher meant getting better at classroom management.
I looked for better consequences, stronger behavior strategies, and new ways to get students to listen, follow directions, and stay on task.
What changed my teaching was realizing that the most powerful work happens before behavior becomes the problem: building expectations with students, explicitly teaching routines, creating strong relationships, increasing participation, and giving students meaningful opportunities to contribute and take ownership.
That experience became the foundation of Teachers Empowerment Network—and everything I teach inside Teach Like a Top TEN™.
